As the dust settled on another season in the North West Counties Division there was only one thing left for our Men's First Team as the players and staff gathered for an end of season celebration and presentation evening, with some excellent food provided by The CrossBar.
Head of Football, Oliver Byron opened the evening with a speech thanking the team behind the team, the volunteers and coaches that work tirelessly behind the scenes, before handing over to First Team Manager Declan Swan to present the awards.
Our Young Player of the Year award went to Arthur Hancock, despite his young age Arthur has been ever present in this seasons squad with particular mentions to his performances in this seasons FA Vase.
There was no denying our next award winner as Joe Bevan was invited up to collect his Top Scorer award (sponsored by Cookie) after netting 28 times in all competitions this season.
Our next award was Managers Player of the Year which Dec awarded to our marauding left back Taylor Kennerley who has played a vital role this season and scored 4 goals in 36 appearances for the club.
The Volunteers Player of the Year was next to given and after a very tight vote amongst our helpers it was awarded to Joe Bevan, Joe's first season with the club saw him with an outstanding 78% strike rate including 3 hat tricks and a 4 goal haul in the Cheshire Cup.
Finally was Players Player of the Year, arguably one of the most converted awards as you are voted for by your colleagues. Another very tight vote was won by Goalkeeper Andy Jones, AJ appeared in 36 matches this season keeping 15 clean sheets, not a single goal conceded in 5 matches in January also saw him awarded NWCFL Goalkeeper of the month.
Finally it was great to bring some old trophies back to life as we issued the Colin Oakes and Ben Morgan trophies for the first time since 2018 which has been added to this season with the addition of The Andrew Kimber Trophy.
Thanks to everyone for their hard work and dedication this season and we look forward to another successful season in 2025-26.
