Josh Lane

Striker

Q: what are you looking forward to this season?
A:” I am looking forward to getting my head down and cementing my place in the team, I don’t know how Jones is coping as my body is feeling it so hopefully we can go far and achieve real success this year.”

Q: What are your hopes this season?
A: “to gain promotion and be part of a successful team again, have a good dressing room in which everyone bonds well and that is then taken out onto the field.”

Q: Any worries for the season?
A: “being really successful and having to ask the wife to go abroad for the end of season celebration.”

Q:Any players to keep an eye on this season?
A: “I think Brad Cooper will be the player who shines this season as for me he is a solid 8/10 every week and is very consistent. I have also played with (Tom) Wakefield for many years and know what he is capable of in this league. So hopefully they get their chance this season and prove themselves to be great players.”

Q: Are there any games you are particularly looking forward to this season?
A: “Every team in this league I have got some memory against, whether it be scoring against or playing for. However Alsager and Eccy (Eccleshall F.C) are my two most favoured games as they are passed clubs of mine,”

Q: footballing idols?
A: “Although he didn’t play in my position I always followed Michael Carrick as he had such a calm head and was very influential with his forward passes and distribution.”

Q: what team do you support
A: Manchester United.

Q: Any pre match rituals
A: “You wouldn’t believe me if I told you ha ?.”

Q: Favourite Album
A: “All the Courteeners albums.”

Q: message for the fans
A: “The fans are going to be a massive part of the journey this year and hopefully with the way we are playing we can attract a bigger gate as the weeks go by, we need to pack the sheds and be a team to be heard!!”

Q: Did you Know?
A: (In Josh’s own words) “Josh Lane is Hocky’s golden child and is destined to be Sandbach United manager when Hocky hands over the reins. ”
